Declaration of the Alumni Chapter of the School of Communication in Support of its Reaccreditation

The Board of Directors of the Alumni Chapter of the School of Communication (SC) fully endorses the reaccreditation of the undergraduate program by the Accrediting Council of Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).

It also recognizes the importance and contribution of the SC as the main educational center in the field of communications in Puerto Rico since its foundation in 1972 and the first to achieve the accreditation of the ACEJMC in all its concentrations.

Since then, the School of Communication has trained many of the professors who are currently part of the faculty in various universities, as well as professionals who stand out for their preparation and performance in the media industry in and outside of Puerto Rico.

Professors, journalists, researchers and communication professionals in private and public companies of national and international prestige have been the best ambassadors of our school during the past four decades.

As part of their educational training, the graduates of the School of Communication have acquired and generated extensive knowledge and a set of skills and tools that add up the ideal balance between theory and practice of the exercise of communication.

That is why the Alumni Chapter recognizes the importance of the SC maintaining ACEJMC accreditation at the undergraduate level, which positions it as a prestigious, competitive and avant-garde university at national and international level.
